{making art with printables blue jeans} Masculine Squash Card by Cathy Frailey

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!  It's my last post as a DT with Julia and I've made a masculine squash card using the Blue Jeans Printable Paper Pack! This is such a fun collection, especially the little bits of ephemera. The absolute perfect collection for more masculine projects!

The first thing I did was pick 2 of the papers to print front to back for the inside/outside of my card. Then I cut it down to 8x8.

Next, I folded the paper in half in both directions and then on the diagonal.

Place the side you want for the outside face down. Then fold the upper diagonal fold down so the tips of the paper meets.

Then fold the other diagonal fold up and the tips will again meet.  Then fold the first part back down and it's done.

For the front and back, I printed two 3x3 pieces of the lined paper. For the inside, I printed two 3x3 pieces of the brown paper for the inside squares.

And now to embellish and finish!

I went around the edges and creases with distress ink in what else - the Faded Jeans color! I used a piece of the ephemera as a pocket and stuck a little cardboard tag that I stamped 'For You', which is removable. That pocket looks like real leather!

On the back, I printed a sentiment inside the grungy piece of ephemera. The frayed fabric tie is held on by stud brads.

How fun when it's opened! The inside looks like a pair of jeans!

Those little jean pockets are adorable and so realistic - they make the perfect pockets for other ephemera!

I foam mounted the rivets and added lacquer to make them shiny. They're adorable!

I hope it inspires you to create your own squash card!  I've really enjoyed my time with Julia and just adore her products! Thank you, Julia! 💋
